SUAA at SIUE Chapter Meeting
The annual meeting of the SIUE Chapter of the State Universities Annuitants Association (SUAA) was held on Tuesday, June 6th at 11:30 a.m., in the Maple/Dogwood Room of the Morris University Center. This meeting was open to SIUE SUAA Chapter members and non-members alike. Light lunch was provided beginning at 11:30 a.m., with the meeting starting at noon.
Our guest speakers included:
- Ross Breckenridge, Manager of Outreach and Community Affairs, Office of the Illinois Comptroller. Ross explained the role and services of the Illinois Comptroller with specific emphasis upon State pensions, credit upgrades, rainy day emergency funds and bill transparency. The Illinois Comptroller provides critical services in management and distribution of state funds, including payroll for state employees.
- SJ Morrison, Managing Director, Madison County Transit. SJ provided an update on future enhancements to the Madison County Trails and transportation services available in Madison County.
SUAA is your advocate for the funding of higher education and protection of your retirement benefits from your first contribution to SURS through your retirement years.
