Jatavia Wright is a 19-year-old sophomore at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is a Mass Communications major who plans on pursuing a career in marketing. Jatavia maintains the desire and innovation to help reconstruct the way track and field is constructed on the pro, collegiate and high school levels.

Jatavia is a native of Miami, FL where she lives with her wonderful parents James and Lucy Wright. Her family also includes a brother and a sister. Jatavia’s loving boyfriend Davinn Smith serves as one of her biggest supporters through her adversities in life.

Before attending SIUE, Jatavia earned the honor of being a student ambassador, magna cum laude, and principal honor roll student several times in high school. In addition to being an outstanding student, she has been a competitive athlete since the age of 6. As a standout high school athlete, she chose to join SIUE’s Track and Field team during her senior year. Her life’s motto is, “You have to walk by faith to conquer your battles.”

Dariel Danita Miller is an 18-year-old sophomore at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is a Psychology major interested in pursuing a career that allows her to work directly with mentally ill or underprivileged children. She believes her bubbly personality has resulted in her ability to be a tremendous and efficient care provider when working with children.

Dariel is originally from Venice, IL and currently resides in Madison with her parents Cassandra and Darrell Miller Sr. As a member of a large family; her family also includes two brothers and four sisters. She began attending SIUE the summer of 2011 in the Summer Bridge program.  The program was completely helpful and beneficial to her as a soon-to-be college student.  As a result of the program, she earned a 3.8 grade point average her first semester at the university.

Dariel is a member of the SIUE Gospel Choir and has also served as a praise dance choreographer at her church. Her life’s motto is, “Life is too short to work all the time, and life is too valuable to party all the time.”

Chelsea Reddix is a 20-year-old junior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Chelsea is an Economics and Finance major with plans of succeeding in the field of business. She is pursuing a career in financial management for large corporations and businesses.

Chelsea is originally from Phoenix, Arizona. She is the middle child of Bobbi and Timothy Reddix. Her older brother and younger sister round out the make up of her family. Her family moved to the small town of Lincoln, Illinois where she grew up and graduated high school in 2010. Though Chelsea moved from Lincoln to continue her education in Edwardsville, she still continues to return home and volunteer in the community and her church.

Chelsea is an individual who lives her life to help others in need. She is a social, adventurous, outgoing individual always up for trying something new. Chelsea’s life motto is, “Be who you want to be, not what others want to see.”
