CMIS 342 - Collaboration Technologies

Project Focus:
Determine a suitable collaboration technology for use in business and give a presentation featuring an example of the chosen technology.
Contribution/Role:
Researcher/Presenter
Technology/Skills:
Powerpoint, Collaboration Technology (Skype)
Description:
The presentation was meant to show a collaboration technology that would be suitable for use in the business world. In addition to giving information about the technology, the group was also expected to either show a video of the technology in use or actually demonstrate the technology in front of the class.
Challenges:
Determining how best to use the technology in the presentation took some trial and error. Dead zones within the building prohibited the group from transmitting from certain areas.
Reflections:
The presentation went very well, and the demonstration of Skype worked flawlessly. One student actually gave his part of the presentation over Skype before returning to the classroom.
