Overview
SIUE values the practical and educational experiences you’ve gained from earning your RN degree. Our flexible online program allows you to build on your existing degree or diploma to earn a bachelor of science degree in nursing in as little as one year. The program is designed for working RNs who have completed an associate degree or diploma nursing program and allows for maximum flexibility in completing both nursing and general education courses.
SIUE offers free transcript evaluation and waives the application fee for students who apply to the program through the RN to BS Employer Partnership Program.
Academic proficiency credit for lower-division nursing courses completed as part of preparation for a licensure program at another institution will be given to applicants who have completed their nursing course work within five years of acceptance into the SIUE School of Nursing RN to BS program.
Applicants who have completed their nursing course work over five years before acceptance into the program must submit a portfolio of their professional work prior to their initial course in the program. Applicants should contact the RN to BS program director for details.
Proficiency credit is applied to the student’s transcript upon successful completion of NURS 240R and NURS 335R with a grade of C or better. Proficiency credits will apply toward the nursing major at SIUE.
