Student Research
Working closely with the affiliated faculty from across disciplinary areas, many undergraduate students of the International Studies Program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville are involved in research activities.
International Studies majors may choose to participate in the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URCA) program, through which they gain priceless experience in research, getting to develop meaningful relationships with faculty mentors as well as to expand their curriculum by applying what they have learned in the classroom to real world settings. Additionally, each semester many of the URCA students earn course credit and/or a stipend for their participation.
International Studies majors have presented research at the Undergraduate Scholars Showcase held annually at SIUE, regional conferences, and the National Conference on Undergraduate Research.
