International Studies Day
International Studies Day, held every year during the spring semester, helps connect students with the opportunities and demands of professional pursuits in international and global settings.
Each edition of the series of events has included tens of participants and has added value to the International Studies program, the College of Arts and Sciences, the university as a whole, and the region.
In recent years, International Studies Day has brought to SIUE and engaged with students, faculty, and local community members notable guest speakers, including Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury, former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, former President of the UN Security Council, and former President of the UNICEF Board; Scott Rauland, a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of State and member of the Senior Foreign Service; and tens of representatives of local, national, and international nonprofit organizations and businesses as well as scholars.
