Student Organizations
International Studies majors can take advantage of several student organizations that are active on campus.
Recently, a chapter of Sigma Iota Rho has been initiated at SIUE. The purpose of Sigma Iota Rho is to promote and reward scholarship and service among students and practitioners in international studies, international affairs, and global studies, and to foster integrity and creative performance in the conduct of world affairs.
Partnered with a national nonprofit organization, the Mustard Seed Peace Project at SIUE has the mission to empower communities worldwide by addressing the educational, medical, nutritional, and economic needs of their people.
The SIUE Global Ambassador Program aims to facilitate a smooth transition to life in the U.S. for our international students, expose U.S. students to other cultures, and foster meaningful interactions by matching international and U.S. student “buddies.”
Students for Global Outreach aims to provide information and access to service organizations for students who wish to serve both abroad and within the U.S. and to connect students with service trips, organizations and opportunities that relate to their interests and values.
