Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity is an organization for “Men of Character Committed to Making a Difference.” Its motto, “Alethia Kai Logos” – what AKL truly stands for, translates as “the Truth and the Word.” It is an organization for men who are committed to bettering their educational and social experience, the community, and most importantly themselves. The Fraternity currently comprises 33 chapters and colonies at 33 colleges and universities within the United States. With that said, education is very important and forms the basis of becoming “Men of Character.” AKL is not just a fraternity in which men come together. It abides by five distinct ideals: Judeo-Christian Principles, Leadership, Scholarship, Loyalty, and Self-support.
The Alpha Kappa Lambda Foundation is a special organization for AKL’s principal philanthropies. Its mission is to make a website to communicate and promote the cause to better our communities and society itself. Specifically, AKL has a mission to fight against disease, fight against domestic violence, and help encourage the betterment of our education around the globe. With that said, Alpha Kappa Lambda has endowed itself with three principal causes and organizations: the fight against Cystic Fibrosis, Alpha Kappa Lambda’s National Service Project “These Hands Don’t Hurt,” and the “Adopt-a-School” Foundation. With these three causes, AKL has becomes more than just an organization of men. It has become an organization of service.
Alpha Kappa Lambda is an organization of men who are devoted to improve their educational knowledge and skills. It also consists of men who are socially active at their educational institution. With that said, Alpha Kappa Lambda looks for these people. However, AKL encourages everyone to join these (and any other) causes to ensure the betterment of our society.
