Your first task is to research the relationship between sickle-cell anemia and malaria. A young couple in Africa has hired your team to study their family tree to determine if they should or should not conceive a child. You and your team will be responsible for making a pedigree chart and using Punnett squares in order to determine the genotypes of the parents, in regards to the sickle-cell gene, and then how those genotypes affect the chances their offspring will either be carriers of the sickle-cell gene, have the sickle-cell disease, or have no traces of sickle-cell in their body.
