So let's start with a little insanity - on Christmas Day millions of online gamers woke up to find that Xbox live and the Playstation Network were out of service. They had been hit with a distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack. Basically the individuals who were responsible flooded these sites with illegitimate traffic which prevented them from operating normally. On one hand, I think this was ridiculous, a stunt to get attention and one which put a damper on a lot of people's holidays. On the other hand, one 15 year old was quoted as saying "Now I have nothing to do!" That, to me, is a sad statement about society - if there is nothing else to do but sit in front of the t.v. and game console. What, then, is the future?
