Extracurricular
Student Leadership Development Program is offered through SIUE's Kimmel Leadership Center. SLDP requires each member to attend 20 professional modules that discuss topics such as politics, effective communication and race. The program also requires 60 hours of community service to be completed before graduation. Some volunteer projects I have particiapted in are the homelss project, where students disperse food to the homeless in east St. Louis; Christmas Warmth is a program that gives low income families Christmas presents. SLDP has made me become a more rounded person and opened my eyes to things I may not have seen otherwise.

I am a member of SIUe's chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America. This group helps PR students and non-PR students alike in expanding their knowledge of the PR industry and current trends within the field. At our monthly meeting, a PR professional comes to speak about their experiences. The group allows for great networking opportunities, preparation for graduation opportunities and ideas for future job opportunities.
Hobbies
Tennis
I played tennis in high school for four years. I love the game because people can play the sport throughout their life for recreation or competitive purposes. When I am on the court, I forget about the craziness life can bring sometimes. I have also had the opportunity to teach tennis to children with Down's syndrome. Everyone should play!
Concerts
My favorite thing to do in St. Louis during the summer is going to concerts. I always go to at least one every summer at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. I enjoy sitting in the lawn because I can move around as I please. My favorite artists are The Fray, John Mayer, Train, Coldplay, OAR, Third Eye Blind and Michale Buble. There is nothing better than listening to my favorite band and enjoying the summer weather at the same time. Music is so good for the soul:)
Traveling
Traveling is my favorite thing to do in the entire world. I have been fortunate enougt to be able to have travleled to many different places throughout my life. I think the most memorable place I have been is Europe. My high school classmates and I traveled to Europe for our senior trip. We went to Rome, Athens, and the Greek Islands. The beauty of both countries will be engraved in my memory forever. The culture of Europe is so interesting. I hope to one day travel back to Europe, and visit other European countries.
Life is a book; those who do not travel read only one page.
