3.1
Re-connect the power cable and turn on the laptop.
3.2
When the laptop is powering on, press the F2 key on your keyboard to enter the BIOS.
The BIOS (Basic Input/Output Systems) allows you enable and disable hardware features, and view hardware specifications, on your laptop (i.e. Processor and System Memory).
3.3
From the BIOS Home screen, use the arrows keys on your keyboard to navigate to the Boot tab or screen.
3.4
Then, from the BIOS Boot screen, verify the Second Boot Device listed under Boot Device Priority is Storage Device: 256GB SSD.
If the Second Boot Device listed under Boot Device Priority is not Storage Device: 256GB, then it is time to troubleshoot the problem.
Troubleshooting: Bad Solid-State Drive
For a bad solid-state drive, un-install the solid-state drive and re-install the hard drive. Please reference Lessons 1 and 2 for specific instructions. After the hard drive is reinstalled, re-enter the BIOS. Verify the “Second Boot Device” listed under “Boot Device Priority” is Storage Device: 150GB HD. If the hard drive does show up and the solid-state drive does not, you may have a bad solid-state drive and will need to contact the solid-state drive manufacturer.
