Sharing of Files from OneDrive
  1. Go to office.com and open the OneDrive app
        officod
  1. Open a folder that has a file you would like to share in the “My files” area of window
        folder
  1. Once your file is located you can either, share directly from this screen or you can open the file and share from that screen.  Part A and Part B will show both procedures:
         A. From the “My files” window, hover your cursor over the name of the file until three dots appear. Right click and choose “Copy Link” from menu that appear
        copyfromname

       B. Open the file from “My Files” by a double click.  Once opened, find the “Share” icon in the upper right hand corner of screen.  Click on icon and choose “Copy Link” from
               menu that appears

         infilelinking
  1. Since the default setting can be different in OneDrive office to office, you will want to check to see if the file  is to share for "editing" or "viewing."  Once “Copy Link” has been chosen and the dialog box will open, check to see if the statement below is "edit" or “copy.” You can click on the ">" to change as needed. Then Choose "Copy"
        editcopy
  1. You can then email that link to those that you need to edit/view the file by pasting the file link into the body of an email.

    Take a Moment:

Watch the following video and note the time on the video that you see a mistake in the process of sharing a file that is for "view" only.
