How do I activate my eID?
How to Activate Your eID
Follow these steps to activate your eID (electronic identification) for access to SIUE's online systems:
- Visit the eID Activation Page
- Enter your University 800 number (found on your acceptance letter or other official SIUE documents) and your Date of Birth.
- Create a Password
- Set Up Security Questions
- Complete the Activation
Will orientation be an in-person event?
Do I have to participate in all parts of orientation?
What should I bring to orientation?
Please bring the following items with you:
- Student ID number (you can find this in your admission packet).
- Photo identification (like a driver's license or state-issued ID).
- Comfortable clothing and shoes (you will be walking around campus).
- A sweatshirt or jacket (it might be cool in some buildings).
Will I receive my student ID at orientation?
Yes! You will get your Cougar Card at the end of orientation. Please make sure to bring a valid photo ID (like a driver’s license or state ID) to collect your Cougar Card.
Note: High school student IDs will not be accepted. Learn more about your Cougar Card.
Where should I park for orientation?
You and your guests can park in Visitor Lot B for free. Just park your car and head into the Morris University Center to check in.
Can I bring a friend who will not be attending SIUE?
No, only students who have been accepted to SIUE and their guests may attend New Student Orientation.
If your friend wants to visit campus, they can contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 618-650-3705 to set up a tour.
What if I am unable to attend?
We offer multiple orientation dates, so there should be a session that fits your schedule.
If you really can't make it, please contact the New Student and Family Programs team at orientation@siue.edu or call 618-650-2400.
How do I accept my financial aid award letter?
- Go to CougarNet.
- Click on Enter CougarNet and log in with your e-ID or University ID.
- Select Financial Aid from the menu.
- Click on Award.
- Choose Award for Aid Year.
- From the drop-down menu, select the correct aid year and click Submit.
- Click on Accept Award Offer.
- You can accept or decline the items listed.
- Click Submit Decision.
First-Time Loan Acceptors:
If this is your first time accepting loans, please complete your Master Promissory Note:
- Apply with Direct Loans.
- Take the loan entrance counseling quiz.
- If you want to transfer any existing Direct Loans to SIUE, call the Direct Loans Service at 800-848-0979 and ask them to update the school listed on your promissory note to SIUE.
How do I check my SIUE bill?
To check your bill, please follow these steps:
- Go to CougarNet.
- Click on Enter CougarNet and log in with your e-ID or University ID.
- Select Student from the menu.
- Click on Student Account.
- Choose Account Detail for Term.
- Use the drop-down menu to select the correct term and click Submit.
