Express Advising
Each day, there are advisors who are available to see any student who may need immediate assistance. This may be a quick question or an emergency. Express appointments can be done in person, by phone, or virtually. If you need to see an advisor and your assigned academic advisor is not available, you can use express by coming to the Office of Academic Advising or by calling (618) 650-3701.
More About Starfish
Starfish is a system to help you manage interactions with your instructors and academic advisor. All currently enrolled SIUE students can access Starfish through Blackboard or through the shortcut icon at the bottom of the SIUE webpage. Newly admitted and returning students should contact the Academic Advising office directly to schedule an appointment.
As a student, you can use Starfish to:
- Schedule appointments with advisors and instructors
- Create a student profile and set up notifications and reminders across all of your devices
- Monitor your academic performance
- Check your progress toward graduation
Throughout the semester, you may receive emails from Starfish regarding your grades or academic performance. These reminders will help you to be successful at SIUE.
