John D. Kendall, was instrumental in bringing the Suzuki Music Method to the United States. In 1959, Mr. Kendall travelled to Japan where he met and worked with Shinichi Suzuki . Professor Kendall developed and directed the Suzuki program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for more than thirty years, until his retirement in 1987. This year (2015) marks the 50th anniversary of that Suzuki program!
