SIUE ORAL HISTORY INTERVIEWS 1.0

Dr. David Werner, then provost of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, is responsible for initiating the scholarly activity that resulted in gathering the historical information contained in the typescripts reproduced here. Provost Werner entrusted this task to Professor Stanley B. Kimball of the Historical Studies faculty, himself a veteran of the university's formative years under the direction of Executive Vice President Harold W. See and Dean of Instruction William Going. The transcripts made available here are the result of Dr. Kimball's oral history conversations during the years 1990-1992 with numerous pioneering SIUE faculty and staff members. All those oral history transcripts generated by Dr. Kimball's activities that included signed legal releases are represented here.
