SIUE’s Division for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is responsible for leading efforts to operationalize inclusive excellence at all levels of the institution.
Formerly Disability Support Services, ACCESS, Accessible Campus Community and Equitable Student Support, is dedicated to providing reasonable curricular and co-curricular accommodations to diverse learners with major life impairments at SIUE.
The Student Opportunities for Academic Results (SOAR) program elevates success by offering first-year students academic and professional support. SOAR provides student advising, coordinates academic programs, makes resources available, and organizes humanities programming such as a series of public thinking events and online reading groups.
The Office of Equal Opportunity, Access and Title IX Coordination (EOA) reports directly to the chancellor and is responsible for promoting and fostering an inclusive campus environment by ensuring campus-wide compliance with the various federal, state and local fair employment laws and regulations.
The Inclusive Excellence, Education and Development Hub (The Hub) is dedicated to achieving and supporting SIUE’s institutional goal of inclusion which is central to the learning, development and success of our campus community through educational opportunities that encourage dialogue and critical reflection.
The Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Campus Center seeks to prepare the next generation of leaders to confront racism and dismantle the belief in a hierarchy of human values. In support of this mission, the SIUE TRHT Campus Center endeavors to fundamentally alter the ways that institutions, practices, policies and people have served to reinforce systemic racial oppression in the Metro East.
