Refund Information
The following information refers to the Housing and Dining refunds that will be issued to residents who are no longer living in University Housing as a result of the housing closures related to COVID-19.
- University Housing will issue a 50% refund of spring housing charges to Bluff, Prairie, and Woodland Hall residents. The last day Bluff, Prairie, and Woodland Halls were open was March 6.
- Evergreen Hall and Cougar Village residents will issue a 40% refund of spring housing charges, as the last day these communities were open was March 21.
- For residents with a residential meal plan (Meal Plan A or B), residents will receive the refund of their remaining food balance (the 40%) plus a portion of the fixed dining costs (the 60%) associated with their spring residential meal plan.
If part of your room and board was covered by a scholarship or other form of financial aid, the Financial Aid Office will review your account carefully and make any required adjustments based on the type of aid received. If you have an outstanding balance on your student account, your refund will be credited to the account. Any remaining funds will be refunded via the typical Bursar refund process. Please review your student account activity regularly to see when your refund is posted.
Please review the following:
- Housing residents who requested to continue living on campus and were approved will continue being charged through the week of their check-out.
- Housing residents who have already completed their check-out, including removing their belongings and returning their key, should expect to receive their refund in 4-6 weeks. We will process these refunds as quickly as possible.
- Bluff, Prairie, Woodland, and Evergreen Hall residents who still have belongings in their space or have not returned their key, will have their space checked for damages, and then the refund will processed.
- Cougar Village residents who still have belongings on-campus are required to return their key to campus before the refund is processed. The key can be mailed in a padded envelope to Cougar Village to the following address: SIUE Commons Building, Campus Box 1256, Edwardsville, IL 62026. Once the key is received and space checked for damages, the refund will be processed. Cougar Village residents are required to return their key due to having continued access to their space while in possession of their key.
