Favorite thing about SIUE: I love how beautiful the campus is and how many opportunities there are to get involved. I have some fantastic memories of my time as a student at SIUE, particularly while I earned my Master's degree.
Why do you do what you do?: Before my current position, I taught English composition for seven and a half years. I fell in love with higher education and helping college students. I wish that the Summer Success Program existed when I was in college, but love helping students understand the complexities of college through SSP!
What advice do you have for incoming SIUE students? Understand how you specifically learn and what works best for you in regards to time management, study skills, study spaces, etc. since they are not the same for everyone. Learning your own best strategies will set yourself up for success for many semesters to come.
What do you like to do in your free time?: I love reading novels and graphic novels, watching Marvel movies and tv shows, hiking and being outdoors, and spending time with my partner and two cats.
