Pre-Collegiate Campus Visit
SIUE Pre-collegiate students from Collinsville High School visited campus for the first time since the onset of COVID-19. The students enjoyed tours around campus, freshman housing, Center Court, the School of Business and School of Engineering.

Spring Series - College, Beyond the Classroom: Get Involved, Gain Practical Skills and Network!
Students, did you know you can successfully balance school, work, and social activities while in college? The focus of the spring Speaker Series is student engagement. SIUE student leaders participant in daily student panels where they share their personal journeys of how they navigate college and supplement their classroom instruction with extracurricular and co-curricular activities. They also discuss how being actively involved in various activities help them socially, academically, and professionally.
Note: The March 2022 spring Speaker Series was presented as the Charter Midday Speaker Series, a special collaboration with SIUE East St. Louis Charter High School.

Study Skills-Elective Course for College Credit

The Study Skills course is designed for students who would benefit from strengthening their study skills and learning effective strategies to increase performance and success in high school and college. Students will learn how to use their learning styles to tailor their approach to learning, process information more efficiently, manage time effectively, set goals, increase concentration, reduce stress and procrastination, read class textbooks and improve comprehension, take notes from textbooks and lectures, improve listening skills, use a variety of notetaking systems to prepare for tests, and perform well on various tests by exposure to a variety of question formats. Students will receive elective college credit for successful completion of this course.

Student-2-Student (S2S) Engagement Conference

The Student-2-Student (S2S) Engagement Conference is a student-led program for high school students. Created by Governors State University’s (GSU) College Pathways Program, the SIUE CORE TEAM collaborated to co-sponsor this 3rd annual event in 2021. Student leaders from GSU and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville planned, facilitated, and presented programming to high school students throughout Illinois. S2S's mission is to engage, inspire and expose high school students to the college environment.
