Military Training
Are you a veteran or current service member? You are eligible to earn academic credit for prior learning obtained during your military training and education programs. SIUE awards credit based on American Council on Education (ACE) recommendations.
The following documents can be evaluated as credit for prior learning:
- Joint Services Transcript (JST)
- Community College of the Air Force transcript
- DD-214
Credit may also be awarded for the following standardized examination programs:
- DSST Exams (DANTES Subject Standardized Tests)
- CLEP (College-Level Examination Program), See College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Policy - 1K5
Students who have completed military basic training earn two (2) hours of credit for physical education and two (2) hours of credit for health education. Students who have served six months or more of active duty may earn two (2) additional hours of elective credit.
