Study Abroad Requirement
This major requires six credit hours of exposure to international issues through intensive exposure to a foreign culture.
The study abroad requirement is typically completed through international travel study pursued either for a semester or during a summer session. The international travel study experience must be selected by a student in consultation with the International Studies program director and International Studies advisor. For additional information, visit Study Abroad.
In recent years, the program has provided flexibility in the preparation of students for professional engagements in global settings. When students could not complete their required study abroad experiences in person, the program has offered options for virtual international immersion. International Studies majors should consult with the International Studies program director to discuss such options.
