Why Black Studies?
I chose to enroll in Black Studies as a minor because I found myself taking many Black Studies courses and excelling in them due to my interest in those courses. I discovered a passion for Black Studies and the black community through courses and participation in organizations. I would advise any prospective or enrolled student to join the Black Studies program because it is a great way to learn more about Black culture, history and influence in the United States and beyond. All of the professors are hands-on and personable, while also educating students on the material in an interactive way.
