Michelle Beard was born and raised in California. In 2006, she moved to Illinois for college.
Formerly a music major at Greenville College, Beard is now pursuing a degree in English with a mass communications minor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
In two years working at The Alestle, Beard was a photographer, photo editor and editor in chief.
