With a last name like Conroy and a very Catholic family, there was no doubt in my mind that I was of Irish descent. However, that was about the extent of my family history knowledge.  All but one of my grandparents are deceased, and my grandmother never hsared stories about her family or childhood. So, like many of my classmates, I was a little overwhelmed with such an endeavor.
   My mother's side seems to be a mystery.  What's left of her extended family lives in New Orleans, so any primary documents were a little too hard to get ahold of.  Plus, no one in her family has begun this type of research, so when I got a lead involving my father's side, the Conroy side, I decided to head more in that direction. Most of my information was obtained through discussions with my Uncle Greg Conroy, my grandmother Lucille Conroy, and many family history reports and websites.
