I created this website because Speed holds a very special place with me. When I was a little kid, my dad and I used to watch action films on HBO and Speed was one of them. When I entered middle school, I became obsessed with movies. I would spend all of my time watching movies and studying them. It became so bad that I was called "The Quentin Tarantino of GCHS" in high school.
Speed was the first movie that my parents bought me when I became obsessed with movies. It was also the first movie that I knew from front to back. I knew the movie so well that my friends turned the movie on with no lights on and muted and also they didn't tell me. They blindfolded me and set me in the room facing the wall where the light from the TV shined. They asked me what part it was on, and I told them. I also said "in 20 seconds, Jack will say "blah blah blah,"" and I was right.
In my opinion, this movie very underrated. Even though this is a standard action movie that you can argue copied off of Die Hard, Speed changes the entire genre of the action film. If it wasn't for Speed, many Hollywood blockbusters of the past 15 years would probably not have been made.
