What is Audio?

Audio can be defined in several ways. Most simply, it is sound within the range of human hearing.

In terms of Physics - it is Vibrations traveling through a medium Longitudinal Wave

In terms of Signal - it is Mechanical, or electrical representation Audio signal

Some basic aspects of sound that can describe and affect audio (FIT):

Frequency hertz (Hz) how fast vibrations are occuring; also known as "pitch," how high or low the audio sounds
Intensity decibels (dB) how loud the sound is; also called "amplitude," or volume
Timbre shape of the waveform the character or quality of a sound as distinct from frequency and intensity;
This is how we can tell the difference between instruments or voices.
