Some schools also use a
plus/minus system, where a grade like B+ is worth more
than a B, while an A- is worth less than an A. SIUE does not use a plus/minus system
in computing end of semester grades or a grade point
average.
These are the most common grades. There are other
letters that can be earned during the semester, as well.
At
the conclusion of every semester, you wait for the
assignment of a grade. Most of us are familiar with
the standard letter grades, where an A is the
highest grade possible, while an F is the lowest.
But letter grades are actually just representations
of a numerical value, like this: |
A |
= |
4.0 |
B |
= | 3.0 |
C |
= |
2.0 |
D |
= |
1.0 |
F |
= |
0.0 |
