Information
Prior to joining
the SIUE faculty, Dr. Strickland was a faculty member at Washington University.
He currently serves as an Affiliate Professor of Engineering
and Public Policy and Adjunct Professor of Social Thought and
Analysis at Washington University.
Professor Strickland
has extensive business consulting experience. He is Director
of Organizational Research Services for the St.Louis office of
Buck
Consultants, Inc., an international human resources consulting
firm. His consulting clients (organization change, survey-based
feedback, organizational communications, marketing planning)
have included Anheuser-Busch,
Emerson
Electric, Miller
Brewing Co., Boeing,
Ralston Purina,
and Whirlpool.
Professor Strickland
has published numerous articles in such journals as Industrial
Management, Journal of Business Ethics, IEEE Transactions,
Journal of Studies on Alcohol, Journal of Drug Issues,
The Journal of the American Society of Engineering Education,
Supervisory Management, Issues In Total Compensation,
American Sociological Review, and Issues in Accounting
Education. His past research has involved such topics as
advertising and alcohol consumption, advertising policy, industrial
competitiveness, compensation systems, business ethics and university-based
science and engineering research's contribution to industrial
competitiveness. Currently, his research interests involve
organizational effectiveness, employee communications and leadership
effectiveness. |
