Atlanta Botancial Garden
The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a 30 acres botanical garden located adjacent to Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Incorporated in 1976, the garden's mission is to "develop and maintain plant collections for the purposes of display, education, conservation, research and enjoyment." The Botanical Garden is composed of a number of smaller themed gardens. Each contains different landscapes to display a variety of plants.A great place to visit.
Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic site
This is the only ranger-led tour in the park is of Dr. King's Birth Home. All other facilities such as the Visitor Centeer, Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, Dr. and Mrs. King's Gravesite, Freedom Hall, and Historic Fire Station No. 6 are self-guided.Visiting the home where Dr. King was born and lived the first twelve years of his life is often the highlight of ones visit to the park.
Georgia Aquarium
Georgia Aquarium is an entertaining, intriguing and educational experience for guests of all ages. While promoting a fun and enjoyable learning experience, the Aquarium instills in its guests a new appreciation for the world’s aquatic biodiversity. One of the Georgia Aquarium’s major goals is to be the leading facility for aquatic animal conservation and research. It houses tens of thousands of animals, representing several hundred species, all of which reside in 10 million US gallons of marine and fresh water, and is the largest aquarium in the western hemisphere. It was the largest aquarium in the entire world from its opening in 2005 until 2012. On a global scale, the Georgia Aquarium supports, conducts and leads research on environmental and conservation issues.
