In 470, our team was assigned a client: CosmoQuest. Our client wanted our team to come up with ways to attract new users, and keep current users on the site. The bounce rate was high, and CosmoQuest wanted to expand. CosmoQuest is an organization geared toward citizen science. They provide tools for moon mapping on their site, and many other science related aspects. For the project, I was in charge of designing the prototype. As a result, I formed a website to present our findings to CosmoQuest.
In 460, we developed an application with about thirty forms involved. Our SportsPro application was very elaborate. We created users and passwords along with admin roles. Custom error handling was coded to deal with duplicate primary keys being entered in a form. We created object data sources to handle the data. When our lab was completed, we installed our project on the cmis3.fh.siue.edu server. We could either use the Visual Basic publishing tool, or use the Windows Installation Package to upload our project.
