PKP Chapter 203 offers three local award opportunities, two of which are open to both members and nonmembers. We encourage all eligible students to apply!
Undergraduate Paper Competition
The Undergraduate Paper Competition is open to all undergraduate students at SIUE. Prizes of $200, $100 and $50 will be awarded for first, second and third place. Applications may be submitted via the University’s Academic Works system.
Undergraduate Scholarship
The Undergraduate Scholarship is valued at $750, and is available to undergraduates with at least junior standing, a minimum GPA of 3.5 and at least 24 semester hours earned. Applicants do not have to be a member of PKP. However, if they are, the award total increases to $1,000. Applications may be submitted via the University’s Academic Works system.
Graduate Fellowship
The Graduate Fellowship is for PKP student members who will enter their first year of graduate or professional study in the fall. One awardee will be selected by SIUE’s chapter and will be presented $1,000. That awardee will then be entered into a society-wide competition, with awards valued at up to $35,000. Application details are available at phikappaphi.org/awards. As directed on the national site, candidates will submit all application materials to their chapter president. Chapter 203 will select one awardee. Then, the chapter will submit that winner’s materials through the national portal for a chance to compete society-wide for additional funds.
