Professional Background
How long have you been at SIUE?
I have been advising since the Spring of 2017! However, I have been a part of the SIUE community since the Fall of 2012.
How did you get here?
Originally I was to transfer to NIU after completing my associates degree at the local community college.. well, my sister had attended SIUE for a year and thought I might like it too. All of a sudden something in me shifted and I felt the change might be a good thing for me. A month before classes started I made the decision to attend and I have been here ever since!
What do you love most about working at SIUE?
I love the atmosphere and how easy it is to meet someone new on campus! The campus is beautiful, and I also love the diversity and the shared desire for continued growth and improvement.
What are you most passionate about professionally?
Professionally I am passionate about Student Success, Student Belonging, and Community Support. I believe wholeheartedly in assisting students to grow both personally and professionally over their time in college.
What are your primary duties in your current position?
To advise, support, counsel, and assist undergraduate students in reaching their short and long-term goals. Also helping students establish/develop life-skills that benefit them both in personal & professional life.
Personal Information
Where can we find you when you’re not working?
When I am not working, I am typically running around with my two kids or spending time with my husband - that all keeps me pretty busy. I also enjoy doing photography on the side or being outside!
Where did you grow up?
I lived a handful of places growing up but I lived most of my childhood in Machesney Park, IL - north of the Rockford area.
