SIUE Graduate Student Steven Houk Receives Sharon Mutter Professional Advancement Award
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville graduate student Steven Houk received the Sharon Mutter Professional Advancement Award for contributions to the Marketing Research Association (MRA). Houk will receive the award when he attends the MRA conference in Chicago on Friday, Sept. 9.
The award is given in honor of Mutter’s memory to those who exemplify her excellence in marketing research. Mutter was a founding member of the Great Lakes Chapter of the MRA and died in 2015.
Houk, who is in the final semester of his master of marketing research (MMR) degree, is an intern at Ipsos, a global marketing research firm.
“I am extremely grateful and excited about the award,” Houk said. “It means a lot that others felt I was deserving of the award. I’m looking forward to attending my first conference as a new member of the marketing research industry.”
According to Ramana Madupalli, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Management and Marketing and director of the MMR program, the Great Lakes MRA is one of the largest chapters.
