Dr. Candace Hall Receives FY 2026 Vaughnie Lindsay New Investigator Award
This year’s Vaughnie Lindsay New Investigator Award recognizes Candace Hall, EdD, assistant professor in the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Education, Health and Human Behavior’s Department of Educational Leadership and program director of Higher Education and Student Affairs.
"I am elated to have my work recognized with the Vaughnie Lindsay award," said Hall. "This award will allow me to continue to blend creative endeavors within my research program. I’m so grateful."
The Vaughnie Lindsay New Investigator Award is made to tenure-track SIUE faculty members to recognize and support individual programs of research or creative activities. This Award recognizes faculty members whose research or creative activities have the promise of making significant contributions to their fields of study, their respective school/department and to SIUE, in general. Recipients are expected to produce published scholarly works/products and externally sponsored grants/contracts.
This year’s award recognizes Hall’s expansive research interests, including the recruitment, retention, and support of faculty across various institutions. In particular, her exploration of the various impacts on and indications of job and career satisfaction is both timely and significant.
Hall has produced a range of scholarly products, including publications in multiple venues. She has given 14 presentations at national conferences to date and has been invited to lecture and serve as a panelist locally, regionally, and nationally.
Hall served as executive producer and creator of the award-winning documentary “clusterluck,” which was released in 2022. The film premiered at the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE). Currently, Hall is working on her latest creative project entitled Imagined Futures of Black Faculty.
