Terziovski Earns SIUE’s James R. Anderson Housing Scholarship
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville sophomore Katie Terziovski, a native of Granite City and an Evergreen Hall resident, has received the 2016-17 James R. Anderson Housing Scholarship. Terziovski is studying education, and plans to become an elementary school teacher upon graduation.
Terziovski is described as an engaged SIUE community member, and an active participant in Evergreen Hall building events, Campus Activities Board and Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. She is also highly successful in her academic pursuits and passionate about her future in education.
The James R. Anderson scholarship, valued at $1,000, is presented annually to an academically motivated student with at least a 3.0 GPA, who has demonstrated civic leadership in community service and University Housing activities. It was created in memory of Anderson, a former associate director of University Housing at SIUE.
“We’re pleased to be able to honor Jim in such a manner as this award,” said Michael Schultz, director of University Housing. “He believed not only in the value of education in and out of the classroom, but also valued family, community involvement and service.”
