SIUE School of Education, Health and Human Behavior Hosts Honors Celebration
The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Education, Health and Human Behavior (SEHHB) spotlighted student achievement and recognized its generous donors at its Honors Celebration, held Saturday, April 23 in the Morris University Center Conference Center.
Approximately 200 students, parents, donors, sponsors, faculty and staff were in attendance as more than $15,000 in awards and scholarships were presented.
“I always look forward to this day, because it really is a fun event,” said Curt Lox, dean of the SIUE SEHHB. “We honor a number of truly outstanding young men and women for their academic accomplishments, and the students have the opportunity to celebrate with friends and family. These students have worked hard and dedicated their lives for several years to completing their degrees and Honor’s Day recognizes this commitment.”
Students from each of the School’s departments, including applied health, educational leadership, teaching and learning, and psychology, were recognized.
“We are grateful for the generous support of our donors,” Lox added. “The named scholarships and awards are a highlight. Many of the donors attend the ceremony each year, which is particularly meaningful to me and to the students. In fact, some of the student recipients would not be here without the assistance provided by our dedicated sponsors.”
