Motivating to Increase Performance Across Generations
Friday, March 18
8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., SIUE Main Campus - Founders Hall
Motivating employees has never been a one size fits all approach. As today’s organizations become more diverse, the need to understand what makes employees tick becomes increasingly important. Motivation is part of the performance equation. Therefore, in order to increase performance for your department and for your organization, you need to understand the power of motivation. Jenni Hunt, instructor in the SIUE Department of Management and Marketing, has developed a hands-on session that will provide participants the understanding necessary to create a motivational culture throughout the organization. She will share stories, techniques and practice scenarios to help participants master the art of motivating across generations.
Emotional Intelligence
Friday, April 1
8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., SIUE Main Campus - Founders Hall
This one-day workshop will introduce components of emotional intelligence and how they shape distinct leadership styles, and you will learn how to lead in an emotionally intelligent way. We’ll start by exploring the varied aspects of emotional intelligence, self and social awareness, and self and relationship management, then move into emotionally intelligent leadership practices.
Simply learning about leadership styles is not enough to make you an adept, insightful leader. It takes using each style repeatedly, and examining the feedback from each interaction, to really develop the skillful use of leadership styles.
