Mission Statement
The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Chapter of the Student Veterans of America is committed to ensuring that military-connected students achieve their greatest potential. Whether that be providing them with a peer group, getting them involved on and off-campus, or connecting them to helpful resources to give them the ability to be connected and successful student veterans.
Chapter Background
The SVA at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville was revived in October 2017 by the Veteran work study students. Each officer of our SVA chapter is employed within Veteran Services and saw firsthand the absolute necessity for a Student Veteran Association on our campus. As veteran advocates, we followed suit and devoted ourselves to creating more ways to assist our veteran students. Working hand in hand with veterans every day provides specific insight to the needs, wants, and expectations of our veterans and we take full advantage of our unique opportunity.
