Approximately 200 guests enjoyed a dinner catered by Sugo’s Spaghetteria and music provided by Al Holliday and the East Side Rhythm Band for Lovejoy Library’s “Night in the Stacks” annual fundraiser Saturday, August 11 at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Lovejoy Library. Among the guests were Interim President of SIU Kevin Dorsey and his wife, Linda, and Board of Trustees Amy Sholar and Shirley Portwood. The event was held on the main level of the library.
“We are excited to have Al Holliday performing, whose band has built its reputation for its world class R&B and distinct brand of soul music,” said Library & Information Services (LIS) Interim Dean Lydia Jackson. “Revenue from the event will support Lovejoy Library’s renovations and enhancements to allow for a better user experience for students, faculty and community members who utilize the library.”
Part of the fundraising efforts included a silent auction that included items from performers of the Mississippi River Festival, as well as other unique items.
