Description: |
The National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program funds host institutions and their faculty to mentor a cohort of undergraduate students (between 8 and 12 students) as they participate in an active research program. Known as REU sites, these programs can range in topic including social, computer, biological, physical, chemical, and earth/environmental sciences, STEM education, engineering, and mathematics or can combine multiple disciplines so long as the research has a coherent intellectual theme. Duration and timing of REU sites is variable. This workshop will provide a basic overview of the REU program and elements needed to create a strong REU proposal and site. We would also like to gauge interest in a follow-up session.
