New Faculty Support Fellow
The New Faculty Support Fellow will spearhead orientation and onboarding of new faculty and postdocs. This includes an annual new faculty orientation each Fall semester and monthly onboarding sessions throughout the school year. Scheduling and content planning for these first-year sessions will require cross-campus collaborations with the SIUE Provosts’ office, HR, ACCESS, ORP, NTTFA, TTFA, Chancellor’s Postdoc Fellowship Program, and others. Additionally, this Fellow will develop and bolster support for junior faculty beyond the first year by partnering with the Growth Network, ORP, and Teaching Excellence Faculty Fellow. This Fellow should be an established faculty member eager to foster an environment for new SIUE faculty to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design, implement, and lead faculty/postdoc development programs focused on orientation to resources, evaluation practices, and networking.
- Resource Dissemination: Develop, maintain, and share a database of helpful resources, tips, and policies relevant to new faculty and postdocs to facilitate their orientation and success in their new roles at SIUE.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other university units, including the SIUE Provosts’ office, HR, ACCESS, ORP, NTTFA, TTFA, Chancellor’s Postdoc Fellowship Program, and others, to ensure comprehensive support for new faculty and postdocs and well-rounded programming.
- Evaluation: Evaluate the efficacy of faculty/postdoc orientation and onboarding programming on feelings of belonging, preparation, and support among participants. This will be reported annually to the Director to be shared with the Provost’s office.
- Advocacy: Serve as a campus liaison to our new faculty and postdocs helping them identify offices and people to address concerns and questions.
Professional Leadership Fellow
The Professional Leadership Fellow will be an essential piece in the expansion of professional development offerings to staff and mid-career faculty. This Fellow will directly support the Peer Research Consultants, an established program to guide and mentor faculty as they develop, expand, and disseminate their research agendas. Focusing on leadership, this Fellow will also coordinate across campus to identify areas of need and develop programming to better equip and support our more established campus community members. This Fellow will coordinate with other CFDI Fellows to support the Midweek Mentor by offering topics, videos, and/or speakers that share and describe techniques for growing as a professional, leader, or scholar. Importantly, many events, programs, and opportunities organized by this Fellow will bear the Collaboratory branding. The ideal candidate for this role has demonstrated leadership experience in an academic unit or professional society, is excited to group the CFDI in ways that best serve the campus community, and has a passion for bridging relationships across faculty, staff, and administrators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Design, implement, and lead programming and opportunities focused on professional excellence, leadership skills, and scholarly productivity. This includes workshops, seminars, Midweek Mentor, and other collaborative projects.
- Consultation and Support: Coordinate with the Peer Research Consultant team to provide support for faculty in their scholarly endeavors.
- Mentoring & Networking: Develop a network of campus leaders to serve as mentors and contacts for faculty and staff seeking opportunities to grow as professionals in our SIUE community.
- Evaluation: Evaluate the impact of leadership programming on campus community climate, satisfaction, and productivity.
IMPACT Pathways Fellow
The IMPACT Pathways will be the lead content developer and program supervisor for the development of Inclusive Teaching, Campus Community Culture, Cross-Campus Leadership, and Innovation in Equity-Minded Pedagogy Pathways. As such, all of the events, programs, and opportunities organized by this Fellow will bear the Collaboratory branding. This will include working with IMPACT Learning Architect who are developing modules, integrating content into the training platform, organizing program launch, and corresponding with participants. Eligibility for this position is restricted to campus community members who are IMPACT Trainers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Shepherd the implementation of content modules under each of the IMPACT Pathways from content development to deployment.
- Consultation and Support: Serve as the point of contact for IMPACT Pathways development. Coordinate with IMPACT Learning Architect to develop and deploy modules according to project plans and timelines.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other university departments, including Information Technology Services (ITS), ACCESS, Advising, University Housing, etc. to ensure relevance and timeliness of content developed by IMPACT trainers. Communicate regularly with Assistant Vice Chancellor Wagner and CPDI Director Peterson to ensure alignment with other initiatives.
- Evaluation: Evaluate the impact of IMPACT Pathways Programming on campus climate and student outcomes. This will be reported annually to the Director to be shared with the Provost’s office and Office of the Vice Chancellor for ADEI.
- Advocacy: Serve as a campus leader and advocate for IMPACT and CFDI.
Compliance and Technology Fellow
The Compliance and Technology Fellow will play a pivotal role in advancing the university's commitment to integrating AI into our practices and support compliance around digital accessibility. The Fellow will 1) lead initiatives that empower campus community members across various disciplines to effectively incorporate artificial intelligence into their workflows, teaching, research, and service and 2) work with faculty and staff to meet accessibility compliance expectations across platforms. This Fellow will also support the Midweek Mentor by offering topics, videos, and/or speakers that share and describe techniques for technological literacy, AI, and digital compliance. Importantly, some events, programs, and opportunities organized by this Fellow will bear the Collaboratory branding. This position requires a dynamic and innovative campus community member who is passionate about these topics and their potential to transform higher education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design, implement, and lead faculty development programs focused on the integration of AI in teaching, research, and service and digital accessibility compliance. This includes workshops, seminars, Midweek Mentor, and other collaborative projects.
- Consultation and Support: Provide one-on-one and group consultations to campus community members seeking to incorporate AI into their coursework and research. Assist faculty in identifying appropriate AI tools and methodologies that align with their academic goals. Discuss staff and faculty on best practices in digital accessibility and case-by-case basis troubleshooting.
- Resource Development: Develop and curate educational resources, including tutorials, case studies, and best practices, that support the campus community in leveraging AI technologies effectively and complying with digital accessibility guidelines.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other university departments, including Information Technology Services (ITS), ACCESS, and other campus offices, to ensure comprehensive support for the campus community in AI/Digital Accessibility initiatives.
- Evaluation: Evaluate the impact of initiatives developed with AI and digital accessibility themes on faculty/staff readiness, student success, and campus technology literacy. This will be reported annually to the Director to be shared with the Provost’s office.
- Advocacy: Serve as a campus leader and advocate for both the value of AI in academia and the essentiality of digital accessibility.
Changemakers Fellow
The Changemakers Fellow will lead in the development and support of our campus community in the Changemakers Pathways. The Fellow will create and deliver a portfolio of offerings in the Changemakers Catalyst Pathway which will include 1) providing faculty and staff orientation and training on the Changemakers Pathways, 2) supporting faculty in the development on community-engaged and collaborative learning opportunities, and 3) serving as a point of contact for campus community needs as we deploy and iteratively develop Changemakers. Candidates for this position will be campus community members who are familiar with the Changemakers Program and have a passion for supporting efforts around student satisfaction, preparation, and advancement through the training of faculty and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design, implement, and lead faculty staff development programs focused on course redesigns for Changemakers, helping students choose their Changemakers Pathway, best practices in community-engaged and collaborative learning,
- Resource Development: Develop sharable materials (fact sheets, infographics, etc.) for different campus populations to orient them to Changemakers and communicate key information.
- Collaboration: Working in concert with the Changemakers Committee and CODES Program on Community Engagement and Pedagogical Training for guidance and continuity. Ongoing conversation and collaboration with other university departments and committees will also be necessary to support student success, including Enrollment Management (CORE, Registrar, Undergraduate Admissions), Academic Advising, Marketing, General Education Committee, etc.
- Evaluation: Evaluate the impact of the Changemakers Catalyst Pathway across all campus populations. This will be reported annually to the Director to be shared with the Provost’s office and Director of the CODES Program.
- Advocacy: Serve as a campus leader and advocate for Changemakers and how program outcomes complement degree credentials for career readiness.
