Jerry M. Whitmore, Jr., Ph.D. About the Presenter: Dr. Whitmore is Faculty Associate for First-Year and Retention Programs in Science at the University of Wisconsin Madison's WISCIENCE program. WISCIENCE (Wisconsin Institute for Science Education and Community Engagement) is a multi-faceted program focusing on student retention and success: https://wiscience.wisc.edu/ Dr. Whitmore's scholarly work represents an integration of the scholarship of higher education, educational history, leadership, and sociology, focusing on two interwoven strands of investigation: 1) inquiry into the influence of racial difference on teaching and learning, and 2) the development of a historically and communally informed type of leadership knowledge.
