Project(s) Name: Project 1: Garden Shed and Project 2: Electrical Work at Good Samaritan Ministries' new construction training center in Washington Park, Illinois
Students:
Joshua Dorries - jdorrie@siue.edu
Robert (Bobby) Foy - rfoy@siue.edu
Martin Witges - mawitge@siue.edu
Description: The team's original project was to build a garden shed at a community garden space in Washington Park, Illinois. Unfortunately, after completing a cost estimate, feasibility and constructability review, the team determined that this project was not possible since the cost exceeded available funding. The team then shifted their project to an electrical project at Good Samaritan Ministries' new construction training center in Washington Park. The student team prepared a cost estimate, construction schedule, risk management plan, safety plan, feasibility study, and constructability report. The students were able to complete part of the originally planned electrical work prior to when the State stay-at-home order was issued.
