How Long Have You Been in the U.S.? Since 1988
How Long Have You Been at SIUE? Since 1995
What Do You Like Most About SIUE? The relaxed atmosphere, the slower pace allows you to enjoy life and family.
What Do You Find To Be the Biggest Difference Between the U.S. and Your Home Country? The two countries have very different political systems. The United States is an open society where individuals are allowed to openly criticize government and express individualism. Evidence of this can be seen nightly on TV shows like Jay Leno. In China, this type of criticism is not allowed. Interesting Facts: I am married and have a son. We did not push our son to learn Chinese until he was 3. Now a teenager, he is not fluent in speaking the language but I am proud to say he can read in Chinese, more than many other Chinese children in the U.S. Although I once played the violin in the college orchestra I have not played at all since I arrived at SIUE. I hope one day I can pick it up again. |
