What Do You Like Most About SIUE? It is a beautiful campus and the surrounding community offers above average schools and a safe environment to raise a family.
What Do You Find To Be the Biggest Difference Between the U.S. and Your Home Country? I was quite surprised that over 50% of Americans do not accept the science of evolution. In Europe only a tiny percentage of people do not accept science. In Europe and Asia, college professors are held in very high regard compared to other professions. In contrast, professors in the U.S. are considered out of touch with the "real" world.
Interesting Facts: I am married and have two adult children, no grandchildren yet. My daughter teaches computational linguistic at Yale and my son does research in computer graphic for the University of Zurich, Switzerland. My wife is a statistician working for ATT. I play competitive duplicate bridge and also direct bridge tournaments locally and during cruises.
