Dr. Cheah studies the Bosnian community in St. Louis. He is trained in health and public communication campaign design and evaluation, but considers himself a health and intercultural communication scholar. His scholarship centers on how culture affects behavior in a health context. More specifically, his research focuses on testing the influence of personality factors and cultural orientation on the effects of fear appeal messages, and also examining factors that influence Bosnian refugees' cross-cultural adaptation in the St. Louis area.
