SIUE Alumni Recruitment Ambassador
Are you a proud SIUE graduate who’s looking for a way to stay connected and volunteer your time? Are you eager to speak with prospective students within your immediate area about your experience on campus? If so, we are ready to work with you!
As an SIUE Alumni Recruitment Ambassador, you’ll join our Undergraduate Admissions team and help recruit students throughout the United States. We would love for you to help spread the word about the opportunities and growth at SIUE!
Alumni Recruitment Ambassador Volunteer Opportunities
College Fairs
- Scheduled during the fall and spring semesters at locations throughout the area, including local high schools and community colleges
- Designed for high school and college-level transfer students
- Time required: 1-2 hours during the day or evening
Communication
- Write emails, letters or postcards to prospective high school and/or transfer students encouraging them to apply or congratulating them on their admission to SIUE
- Make phone calls to prospective high school and/or transfer students to discuss SIUE and what the campus has to offer, including academic programs, scholarships, admission information or campus visit opportunities
High School Visits
- Visit local high schools to speak with prospective students about the admission process
- Visits are planned in advance and may include speaking with students in a classroom
- Time required: 30 minutes-1 hour
On-Site Admission Events
- Review applications and official transcripts to determine a student’s admissions status
- Conduct a brief on-site interview
Speaking Invitations
- SIUE occasionally receives invitations for an admissions representative or an Alumni Ambassador to speak with prospective students
- Format: Panel discussion or a special guest appearance in a classroom setting
