Welcome to Shaun Diltz's SIUE website
I am a senior Geography major at SIUE. I am an afghanistan war veteran, deployed to Leghman Province in 08-09 with the Illinois National Guard. I am an outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking, identifying trees, plants, and mushrooms, and cooking meals with the edible plants and mushrooms I find. I have been married for nine years and have 2 daughters, they attend, sometimes relunctantly to my outdoor excursions. I won a state wrestling championship in MO in high school and wrestled here at SIUE in 02-03. I still enjoy the sport and try to pass on my knowledge as I am an assistant coach at Wood River High School. I participate in box turtle research here at SIUE where we have collected information on over 100 turtles and have done research with the turtles correlating with evasive species, age of the forest, and forest resources. My first book I purchased when I was five was an Atlas so Geography is a perfect fit and I look forward to continuing my career in the field of Geography after graduating. Enjoy the website.
